New Season - New Series

Description

The music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart seems so catchy, so familiar and artful, sometimes delicate, sometimes pimped out and yet almost simplistic as hardly any other. But how differently this music can sound, what kind of religious wars have arisen over the appropriate interpretation and how each individual has his or her opinion of Mozart,  is unique.

In the second concert you will experience something very special: three young conductors will conduct each work under the eyes of the specialist for historically informed performance practice, Andreas Spering.

THREE DIFFERENT CONDUCTORS - WHAT DOES THAT DO TO MOZART?
The Forum Dirigieren is the German Music Council's nationwide support program for top young conductors. It promotes young talent in the fields of orchestral conducting and choral conducting and stands for the artistic encounter of the young generation of conductors with nationally and internationally renowned conducting personalities. The scholarship holders of the Forum Dirigieren are accompanied over several years on their way into professional life. Andreas Spering was elected as the new principal conductor of the Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra in October 2022 and will begin his five-year term with the 2023/24 season. He is one of Germany's leading specialists in historically informed performance practice.
