Music in focus: Constance Music School and Southwest German Philharmonic Orchestra invite to a "Day of Tones - Listening and Experiencing" for young and old
On Sunday, 18 June 2023 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Konzil
On this day, the Constance Music School and the orchestra will present a cross-section of their musical repertoire.
Gabriel Venzago, chief conductor of the Southwest German Philharmonic Orchestra, and Dieter Dörrenbächer, director of the Constance Music School, will guide visitors through the day.
The day begins with a programme for little music lovers: "Bella Belchaud and her Parrots" is the name of the seat cushion concert for children aged 4 and over, based on a children's book by Elizabeth Shaw. The Miroir Quintet will perform together with the actress, director of the university theatre and enthusiastic seat cushion concert director Anna Hertz, and for the first time, three students from the HTWG Konstanz will also be taking part.
From 1 pm to 4 pm, chamber music ensembles consisting of students from the music school and musicians from SWP Side by Side will present works by Antonín Dvořák, Ralf Kleinehanding, Philipp Jones and others in half-hour concerts.
The day will close with an orchestral concert at 6 p.m. featuring the overture of "Don Giovanni" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and "Don Juan" by Richard Strauss.
Between the individual musical contributions, visitors will have the opportunity to listen to various talks and find out about the coming season - or even to take out a subscription for the new 2023/2024 season.
