Insa Pijanka, born in Mannheim in 1974, studied political science, modern history, economic and social history and sociology at the University of Mannheim and the London School of Economics and Political Science. Since her childhood she has been connected to opera - first at the National Theater Mannheim in the children's choir, later in the opera statistry and finally, after her studies, with the "International Orchestra Academy Mannheim School". Under the artistic direction of Adam Fischer, she was responsible for dramaturgy, press relations and organization. In September 2002, Insa Pijanka moved to the Staatstheater Kassel as concert dramaturge and orchestra director. In 2007, together with GMD Patrik Ringborg, she founded the Orchesterakademie des Staatsorchesters Kassel e.V., a non-profit association that supports young orchestra musicians in their career entry, created the position of a concert pedagogue, and promotes the multifaceted youth work of the State Orchestra. Insa Pijanka has been the artistic director of the Southwest German Philharmonic Orchestra Constance since January 2019. In addition to the organizational and artistic work for an orchestra, Insa Pijanka's dramaturgical activities are a special concern. She has established introductions before the symphony concerts in the Kassel Stadthalle as well as now before the Philharmonic Concerts of the Southwest German Philharmonic Orchestra in the Lake Constance area as a fixed part of the musical program. As a dramaturge, she works time and again in the areas of opera, musicals and plays, conceptualizes readings and, as a presenter, guides audiences through a wide variety of programs, from New Year's concerts to open-air concerts. Particularly close to her heart are the somewhat "offbeat" paths of the repertoire: whether film music concerts or shows with music by ABBA, QUEEN, SWING, DISCO, with music of the 70s and 80s show the versatility that the musical repertoire of an orchestra can offer.
