First Prize at the Staatsanzeiger Award

With its “ZUKUNFTSMUSIK” project, the Lake Constance Philharmonic Orchestra has won first prize at the Staatsanzeiger Awards in the “Culture & Tourism” category.
Out of nearly 200 entries, the Lake Constance Philharmonic Orchestra stood out with a creative approach that makes music more accessible and engaging. “With ‘Zukunftsmusik,’ we are consciously opening up new spaces: for encounters, for exchange, and for questions that move our city and our society,” emphasizes Artistic Director Dr. Hans-Georg Hofmann.
With financial support from the federal funding program “Exzellente Orchesterlandschaft,” the Bodensee Philharmonie is addressing socially relevant themes across seven project phases under the title “Zukunftsmusik,” with the goal of creating spaces for experimentation and encounter, thereby fostering even more intensive exchange between the orchestra and the city.
“For us, ‘Zukunftsmusik’ means that an orchestra is a vibrant, open part of urban life. In doing so, we seek to engage with people who otherwise rarely attend concerts—and open up new experiences,” explains Andrea Hoever, Head of Music Education.

Launched in 2021, the Staatsanzeiger Award recognizes exceptional initiatives by government agencies and public institutions that promote sustainable social development. Across five categories—ranging from civic engagement to digitalization and culture & tourism—the award honors projects that set new standards through innovative ideas and bold implementation.
Each trophy, designed by renowned artist Antje Gerhardy, is one-of-a-kind and symbolizes the diversity and creativity of the award-winning initiatives. ZUKUNFTSMUSIK’s selection as a finalist underscores the project’s relevance and impact within the cultural context.
